Citizenship / Nationality

linguistic ability

To be qualified for an interview, applicants for the position of Office Assistant at any given RRB must be fluent in the language of the State or UT where the RRB is located.

Age Restrictions (as of 1.06.2023)

# Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 28; that is, they cannot have been born earlier than June 2, 1995, or later than June 1, 2005 (both dates inclusive).

# Officer Scale I (Assistant Manager): Candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1993 and later than 30.06.2005 (both dates inclusive).

# Officer Scale- II (Manager): Above 21 years old and below 32 years old, i.e., candidates should not have been born earlier than 3.06.1991 and later than 31.05.2002 (both dates inclusive).

# Officer Scale III (Senior Manager): Candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1983 and later than 31.05.2002 (both dates inclusive).

educational background

Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited university, or its equivalent, for office assistant (multipurpose).

Assistant Manager, Officer Scale-I:

i. A bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, in any discipline from an accredited university. Candidates with degrees in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, animal husbandry, veterinary science, agricultural engineering, pisciculture, agricultural marketing and cooperation, information technology, management, law, economics, or accountancy will be given preference; they must also possess the following qualifications: i. be proficient in the local language as required by the participating RRB/s*; ii. be proficient in the local language; and iii. be willing to learn computer skills.

General Banking Officer (Manager) at the Officer Scale-II

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or its equivalent, with a minimum of 50% overall grades, is required for the position of General Banking Officer (Manager) at the Officer Scale-II level. Candidates with degrees in accounting, banking, finance, marketing, agriculture, horticulture, forestry, animal husbandry, veterinary science, agricultural engineering, pisciculture, information technology, management, law, economics, and accountancy will be given preference.

Officer Scale-II (Information Technology):

Bachelor’s degree in electronics, communication, computer science, or information technology from an accredited university, or its equivalent, with a minimum of 50% overall. Certificates in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, and OCP are desired. (In the relevant field) One year of experience.

Officer Scale-II (Chartered Accountant):

A Certified Associate (CA) from the Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Experience as a chartered accountant for one year.

Officer Scale-II (Law):

A degree in law from an accredited university, or an equivalent degree, with a minimum of 50% overall. two years of experience as an advocate, or at least two years of experience working as a law officer in banks or other financial institutions.

Officer Scale-II (Marketing):

MBA from an accredited university in marketing. (In the relevant field) One year of experience.

Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from a reputable university or institution for Officer Scale-II (Treasury). (In the relevant field) One year of experience.

Officer Scale-II (Agriculture):

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% overall from a recognised university in agriculture, horticulture, dairy, animal husbandry, forestry, veterinary science, agricultural engineering, or pisciculture is required. Having worked in the field for two years.
